HPDash, LLC (“HPDash,” “we,” “us,” and “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have, when you use the HPDash DA mobile application (the “App”).

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide. The App does not require an account, and we do not ask you to provide personal information to use it. If you purchase the optional ad-free subscription, the transaction is processed by Google Play; we receive your subscription status (whether it is active), not your payment-card details.

Information collected automatically.

  • Precise location. With your permission, the App uses your device’s GPS/network location to calculate density altitude and to request the nearest weather observation. Your coordinates (truncated to about four decimal places) are sent to the U.S. National Weather Service to retrieve local weather. We do not store your location.
  • Barometric pressure. If your device has a pressure sensor, the App reads it on your device to improve the density-altitude calculation. This reading is not transmitted.
  • Device and usage data (advertising). When ads are shown (the free version), Google’s advertising technology collects and uses a device advertising identifier, other device identifiers, IP address, and app-interaction and diagnostic information to deliver, measure, and secure ads. Ads are not shown to ad-free subscribers.

2. How We Use Information

  • To calculate and display density altitude and related readings;
  • To retrieve local weather for your location;
  • To deliver and measure advertising in the free version, and to provide and validate the ad-free subscription;
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App; and
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. Cookies & Analytics

The App itself does not set website cookies. In the free version, Google’s advertising and analytics technologies use your advertising identifier and similar identifiers to deliver and measure ads, perform analytics, and prevent fraud and abuse. Where required by law (for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and certain U.S. states), the App presents a consent choice before requesting personalized ads.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only as described here:

  • Google — for advertising (Google AdMob), the subscription (Google Play Billing), and consent management (Google’s User Messaging Platform). See Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • U.S. National Weather Service (NWS/NOAA) — your coordinates are sent to api.weather.gov to return local weather.
  • Legal — when required by law or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data Retention

The App does not operate user accounts or a server that stores your personal information. Location and weather data are processed transiently — on your device and within your current session — and are not retained by us. Information handled by Google (advertising, billing, and consent) is retained for as long as needed and in accordance with Google’s policies.

6. Security

Network requests made by the App use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Privacy Choices & Rights

  • Purchase the ad-free subscription to stop ads and the associated advertising data collection;
  • Reset or limit your advertising identifier, and manage app permissions (including location), in your device’s system settings;
  • Revoke the App’s location permission at any time;
  • Review or change your advertising-consent choices where the consent options are presented.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We do not sell your personal information.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Third-Party Links

The App may link to hpdash.com and to third-party services (such as Google). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; their own policies govern your use of their services.

10. U.S.-Based Services

HPDash, LLC operates from the United States, and the App is intended for users in the United States. Weather data is provided by a U.S. Government source and covers the United States only. If you use the App from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date on this page.
