Remote access, purpose-built for the shop

Tune every vehicle
from anywhere.

HPDash Remote is the purpose-built remote-desktop platform for performance shops and mobile tuners. Reach a customer's in-vehicle PC over cellular and run your full tuning, datalogging, and diagnostic toolchain — the same software you already use — in real time, as if you were right there at the vehicle. Built in-house for our own tuning fleet — now available for yours.

Built in the USA End-to-end encrypted on every channel Tuned for cellular data efficiency Works with any tuner toolchain Native Windows client — not a web app Self-host or fully hosted
Why HPDash Remote

Built for vehicles, not borrowed from IT

Every other remote-desktop tool is a horizontal IT product. HPDash Remote is engineered for headless in-vehicle PCs, real tuning workflows, and the realities of a vehicle on cellular.

Cellular efficiency

Built to run on a hotspot, not fight it

Cellular data efficiency is our number-one design goal. Our custom-tuned codec video pipeline delivers a usable, real-time picture of the in-vehicle PC while using far less data than typical remote-desktop tools — so a vehicle on a cellular link stays workable, not stalled.

  • Custom-tuned AV1 codec built for low-bandwidth links
  • Constant-bitrate streaming that respects a data plan
  • Operator FPS control to balance smoothness against data use
  • Self-tuning bandwidth that scales down gracefully instead of freezing
Stay connected

Seamless Wi-Fi-to-cellular handover

Vehicles move between the shop Wi-Fi, the lift, and the open road. HPDash Remote runs on QUIC transport, so a unit that roams between Wi-Fi and cellular keeps its session alive without a visible drop.

  • QUIC transport built for changing, lossy networks
  • Instant, seamless network handover with no session reconnect
  • Graceful degradation — the link adapts instead of dying
  • Designed around the realities of a vehicle on cellular
Security & accounts

End-to-end encrypted, with real operator accounts

Every channel is end-to-end encrypted, and access is governed by named operator accounts — not a single shared password. Your customer's vehicle data stays protected in transit, and you control who can reach which units.

  • End-to-end encrypted on every channel, built on the Noise protocol
  • Per-session keys — no standing shared secret to steal
  • Per-unit connection passwords you set
  • Named owner and operator accounts with per-unit access control
Native client

A lightweight client that feels local

A lightweight, native desktop client — not a browser tab and not a bulky web app. It installs in seconds and stays fast and responsive while you watch live logs and gauges, even over a cellular link.

  • Native Windows desktop client — not a web app
  • Fast to install and light on resources
  • Low-latency and responsive, even over cellular
  • High-fidelity cursor and input mirroring
Audio & calling

Talk to the vehicle, hands-free

Listen in on the vehicle or hold a two-way call right inside the session. When someone's at the car, they can ping you to start a call hands-free without touching the PC.

  • Listen-only audio from the in-vehicle PC
  • Full two-way calling between operator and vehicle
  • Occupant can ping the operator with a press-and-hold on a Bluetooth earbud
  • Hands-free call start — no reaching for the keyboard
Full toolkit

Files, terminal, and unattended access

HPDash Remote is a complete remote desktop, not just a screen view. Move calibration files, drop into a terminal, and reach a unit even when no one is there — by design, since in-vehicle PCs are headless.

  • Dual-pane file transfer between your PC and the unit
  • Built-in remote terminal for the in-vehicle Windows PC
  • Unattended access to reach a headless machine with nobody present
  • Headless capture via a virtual display — no monitor required
Manage your fleet

Multi-tenant shop accounts and one-step enrollment

Your shop is its own tenant: your units, operators, and policy are isolated from every other shop. Enroll a new in-vehicle PC with a single-use, expiring claim token — it self-enrolls and pins its own key on first connect.

  • Tenant = your shop; units and operators fully isolated
  • Web console at console.hpdash.com to manage the whole fleet
  • Single-use, expiring claim tokens for self-service enrollment
  • Live online/offline presence dots in your address book
  • Invite operators and grant per-unit access by role
Security

Security you can name, not just badges

HPDash Remote is secured with named, modern cryptography — not marketing buzzwords. Every channel is end-to-end encrypted, units pin their own keys, and access runs through named accounts and per-unit passwords. Host the gateway yourself if you want full control of your infrastructure.

  • End-to-end encryption on every channel, built on the Noise protocol
  • Per-session keys and per-unit identity — no shared master password
  • Per-unit connection passwords plus named operator accounts (no shared-password-only access)
  • Self-host the gateway for full infrastructure ownership, or let HPDash host it
  • End-to-end encryption is automatic — there's nothing to configure
Not just for automotive

HPDash Remote is also a capable, secure, cellular-efficient general remote desktop for any business. The same native Windows client, end-to-end encryption, multi-tenant accounts, file transfer, terminal, and unattended access work just as well for IT support, field service, kiosks, and headless machines anywhere a reliable, data-friendly remote connection matters.

  • Every plan includes named operators, the web console, and all features — your in-vehicle units are bundled in, not billed per device.
  • Annual billing saves roughly two months versus paying monthly.
  • Works as a general secure remote desktop too — a "unit" is any enrolled Windows PC, vehicle or not.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight

Does HPDash Remote tune or flash the ECU?
No. HPDash Remote is the secure remote-desktop connection to your in-vehicle PC. You run your own tuning, datalogging, and diagnostic software — whatever you already use — right on that machine over the link. We're the reliable pipe, not the tuning software.
Will it work over cellular?
That's exactly what it's built for. Our custom-tuned codec is built for cellular data efficiency, QUIC transport keeps the session alive across Wi-Fi-to-cellular handover, and bandwidth self-tunes so the link degrades gracefully instead of stalling. Cellular efficiency is our number-one design goal.
What platforms does the client run on?
The operator client is Windows only today, installed from a single small MSI. Native clients for macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS are on the roadmap.
Can I reach a vehicle PC when no one is there?
Yes. In-vehicle PCs are headless by design, so HPDash Remote supports unattended access and captures the screen through a virtual display — no monitor or person required at the machine.
How is it secured?
Every channel is end-to-end encrypted using the Noise protocol, with per-session keys instead of a standing shared secret. You set per-unit connection passwords, access runs through named operator accounts, and you can self-host the gateway for full control. We describe our security honestly rather than leaning on "military-grade" labels or compliance badges we don't hold.
Can I host it myself?
Yes. Self-host the gateway with a single Docker Compose and Caddy for automatic HTTPS, or have HPDash host it for you. The agent installs on each in-vehicle PC from one self-contained MSI of about 37 MB.
How do I add a new vehicle to my fleet?
In the console, go to Claim and generate a single-use, expiring claim token. Install the agent MSI on the in-vehicle Windows PC with that token, and the unit self-enrolls, pins its own encryption key, and shows up in your fleet on first connect.
How do pricing and signup work?
Pick your plan and check out in the shop. We'll set up your shop account and email your owner login plus setup steps shortly after — usually the same day — then you invite your operators. Running a large fleet or want to self-host? Reach out and we'll tailor it.
